Robert C. Milhem
Robert C. Milhem is a founding partner and principal in the law firm of Solan, Milhem & Hertel, P.S., established in 1988. He restricts his practice to the representation of injured and disabled persons in their Workers’ Compensation and Social Security disability claims.
Mr. Milhem is a current and active member of the Washington State Association for Justice with whom he was twice served as Chairperson of the Workers Compensation Section. He is also a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimant’s Representatives (NOSSCR), Washington State Bar Association, and the Spokane County Bar Association. He also served several years on the Washington State Bar Association’s Washington Pattern Jury Instructions for Workers’ Compensation sub-committee. He has presented at numerous Continuing Legal Education seminars and published numerous articles for legal publications on the subject of Workers’ Compensation.
Mr. Milhem received his undergraduate degree from Oregon State University in 1976 and his Juris Doctor degree from Gonzaga University School of Law in 1979.
Jerry Hertel
Jerry Hertel is a founding partner and principal of the law firm Solan, Milhem & Hertel, P.S., established in 1988. He has over 34 years of jury trial experience in Federal Court and Washington State Courts. He restricts his practice to representing workers who have sustained work-place injuries and have been treated unfairly by the Department of Labor and Industries or their employers, and people who are no longer able to work and have been wrongfully denied Social Security Disability benefits.
Mr. Hertel served as an Assistant Attorney General for the state of Washington from 1979 – 1983 before going into private practice. He is a current and active member of the Spokane County Bar Association, Washington State Bar Association and the Washington State Association for Justice. He is also a sustaining member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimant’s Representatives (NOSSCR).
Mr. Hertel received his undergraduate degree and Juris Doctor degree from Gonzaga University, graduating from the School of Law in 1979.
Tony Hertel
Tony Hertel is an associate at Solan, Milhem, and Hertel, P.S., who specializes in Workers’ Compensation and Social Security Disability claims. He previously worked in retail and manufacturing for seven years in Seattle and decided to move back to Spokane, where he grew up, to pursue a career in law. Tony represents clients who have been denied the disability benefits they’re due and works with doctors, claims managers, employers, etc., to ensure the claimant has the necessary support to obtain the benefits they’re entitled to. Mr. Hertel assists with workers’ compensation claim administration, appeals of Department orders and appellate decisions, and with Social Security Administrative hearings and appeals.
Mr. Hertel is a current member of the Spokane County Bar Association, Washington State Bar Association, as well as an EAGLE member of the Washington State Association for Justice.
Tony received his undergraduate degree from Loyola Marymount University and his Juris Doctor from Gonzaga University School of Law.
